New Recognition For Fleming College Program

Published

Peterborough ON – (May 27, 2022) – Graduates of Fleming College’s Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance postgraduate program can now further their careers by becoming Canadian Registered Safety Technicians (CRST).

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals officially recognized Fleming’s program as a pathway to CRST certification in late April.

“This announcement brings national and international recognition to the high-quality programming we provide at Fleming,” said Maureen Adamson, Fleming College President. “The certification will enhance our graduates’ experience, and ensure they are ready for the workplace with safety as their top priority.”

Students in the Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance program train in all aspects of workplace health and safety, and environmental compliance. As a recognized pathway to CRST certification, graduating students will be able to write the exam to become an accredited CRST.

A CRST supports a safe working environment by maintaining Occupational Health and Safety administrative processes, conducts training and uses a wide range of state-of-the-art tools and practices to management workplace health and safety risks.
