MyBeat: new text message alert system
Sign up for a new text message alert system to receive text alerts and emails about safety and emergency situations at Fleming College.
MyBeat is a text message alert system offered by the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service in partnership with Fleming College.
The alert system allows you to receive messages about Fleming College (all campuses are covered through this system) and, if you choose, you can also register to receive information regarding police incidents or citywide Peterborough emergency situations.
Anyone can register to receive the messages by visiting the police service’s website http://mybeat.peterboroughpolice.ca/. Follow the links and instructions to register for MyBeat.
Please note:
§ When you register you are only required to provide your cell number, service provider and a password.
§ If your cell phone plan includes texting then this service is FREE. If your plan does not include texting then you may be charged for each message you receive.
§ You can choose the type of alerts you want to receive including Fleming College alerts, police alerts, and other types as outlined on the website.
§ Individuals cannot reply to the texts to avoid receiving spam messages.
While the service is offered in partnership with Peterborough police, the messages from Fleming College can apply to any campus – Frost, Haliburton and Cobourg.
