Infrastructure projects underway at Fleming College

Work is underway on several provincially-funded infrastructure projects at Fleming College.With more than $11 million in funding from the Strategic Capital Infrastructure Fund, announced by Peterborough MPP Jeff Leal in May 2009, Fleming College will undertake a number of significant capital projects over the next 18 months including:• Main hydro feed replacement at Sutherland Campus – $1.2 million• Road work and storm-water management at Sutherland and Frost campuses – $700,000• A new pathology laboratory at Frost Campus – $1.5 million• Energy reduction initiatives at all campuses – $2 million• Campus Master Plan initiatives at Sutherland Campus, including architectural work on the proposed Kawartha Skilled Trades Institute – $3 million• Deferred maintenance projects at all campuses – $2 millionWhile some projects will be finished this summer – including road work and Phase II of a new emergency notification system – others are scheduled for completion through to 2010-11.“This fund is strategic in both the short-term and the long-term.
