Information Update | Suspension of all large events and public gatherings – March 12, 2020
Peterborough ON – (March 12, 2020) – As a further precaution against the infection and spread of COVID -19, Fleming College is announcing the suspension of all large events and public gatherings on all Fleming campuses. This is effective as of March 13, 2020 and will be in place until the end of the Winter academic semester on April 17, 2020. The suspension includes college-hosted events and those events hosted by external parties. The College will work with parties managing these events to evaluate alternatives and next steps.
We will continue to monitor and assess options for future events such as convocation and spring orientation during this suspension period.
There are no presumptive cases of the virus within the Fleming College community, nor has there been any cases reported through our regional public health units to date. To reiterate, the best way to protect yourself and our communities is through prevention:
- Properly wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
- Avoid contact with people who are sick
- Stay home if you are sick
