Published

Peterborough ON – (September 20, 2018) – Fleming College is proud to announce a partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (CMHA HKPR) to bring Gender Journeys to Frost and Sutherland Campuses. Gender Journeys is a program offered by CMHA HKPR that provides education and support services for transgender, 2-spirit and gender diverse individuals, as well as individuals questioning their gender identity.

Gender Journeys is graciously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario.  In February 2018, CMHA HKPR announced the program was the recipient of a Grow Grant of $648,700 over three years.

Fleming College students can access a Gender Journeys group on campus beginning September 20. Groups will meet once a month for two hours and will explore gender identity, expression and up-to-date information on topics such as the experience of transitioning. These groups will foster community support and connections.
