MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE COUNTY OF PETERBOROUGH:

Join in the excitement as teams of high school students from the Greater Peterborough Area compete for the title of the Peterborough/Kawarthas/Northumberland Envirothon Champions at Sutherland Campus on Thursday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Participating students will face a series of challenging hands-on, environmental science tests focused on forestry, wildlife, soils and aquatics. In addition to raising awareness of the needs of Ontario’s forests, Envirothon encourages critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills among participants.

The Peterborough/Kawarthas/Northumberland Envirothon is part of a larger program that reaches over 5,000 students and educators annually across the province. From May 28-31, the top placing teams from across Ontario will compete for the opportunity to become the Ontario Envirothon Champions at Fleming’s Frost Campus.
