Fleming College accounting students hosting free tax preparation clinics

Peterborough ON – (March 4, 2020) Students in Fleming College’s Business Administration – Accounting program are participating in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program by hosting free tax preparation clinics for eligible individuals.

The tax clinic dates will occur from 12 – 4 p.m. on: 

  • Tuesday, March 10
  • Tuesday, March 17
  • Tuesday, March 24
  • Tuesday, March 31
  • Tuesday, April 7

To be eligible for the free clinics, individuals must have a modest income and a simple tax situation – income of $35,000 or less (individual); $47,500 (family of three); $45,000 or less (couple) and $50,000 (family or four). Please note, the student volunteers will not prepare returns for individuals who are self-employed or have capital gains or losses, employment expenses, filed for bankruptcy, or the individual has deceased in the year.

The tax clinics will be located in the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre (KTTC), room D1129 of the Sutherland Campus, 599 Brealey Dr., Peterborough. Walk ins, drop-offs and appointments accepted.
