Faculty: Liz Pead
Liz Pead completed her BFA, Honours Distinction at OCADU in 2007 as Medal Winner in Drawing and Painting and holds two diplomas in Fine Craft from NBCCD - Fabric Surface Design (1993) and Textiles (1995). She makes Canadian landscape installation paintings from recycled hockey gear, wool, thread, and sometimes oil paint. Recent explorations use textile as extended paint, exploring landscapes through drawing with thread on knitted and woven metal substrates. Liz has travelled to Iceland, Germany, Austria, Scotland, and Denmark researching textile histories and techniques in various residencies and institutions.
