Fleming College

Janet Macpherson is a ceramic artist based in Hamilton, Ontario, and teaches part-time at Sheridan College in Oakville. She studied ceramics at Sheridan College and received her MFA from The Ohio State University in 2010. Janet has exhibited her work widely in Canada and the United States, notably at The George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art in Toronto, and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. She was an artist in residence at Harbourfront Centre (Toronto) and Zentrum fur Keramik (Berlin), and has been the recipient of many grants from Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. In 2013 Janet received the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics, presented by the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery.
