Faculty: Emma Joy Lovell
Emma Joy Lovell is an interdisciplinary designer, entrepreneur and community activator. She has a background in communications and community development, which she incorprates into her strategic approach to design. In 2012, she founded a web and graphic design studio in Northern Ontario called Charm Media that seeks to empower business owners and entrepreneurs with new digital media skills. Emma recently completed a Master of Design degree at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her thesis explored how design can engage with community development and resulted in the creation of a collaborative community storytelling game and communication platform called StoryPlace. Emma also holds a certificate in Digital Image Design from Haliburton School of Art + Design, Fleming College and a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University.
