Craig Thompson

Craig Thompson attained both a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Music Education at Western University in London Ontario. He taught Instrumental Music in Toronto before retiring to Haliburton in 2019. He is a brass specialist and freelance trumpet player who enjoys performing in musicals, giving private lessons and teaching Beginning Band and Jazz Band at the National Music Camp of Canada. Craig spent six summers in the Band of the Ceremonial Guard, toured Europe with the Ontario Youth Concert Band as a featured soloist and assistant conductor, performed with Weston Silver Band and directed the First Royal Canadian Regiment Band in London, Ontario. He and his wife, Maggie, co-founded the local group Adverse Conditions - Highlands Soul Band. The 11-piece band performs dance music by artists such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Sam & Dave, Chicago and Stevie Wonder.
