Supervised Exams

Many OntarioLearn courses require you to write a final supervised exam. It is your responsibility to determine if and when you need to write your tests. You will receive this information from your instructor or you can find it on your course outline.

We will make certain test dates available on which you can write your exam. You will be notified by email of those dates or you can check this web page where the dates and locations will be posted. We may be able to accommodate you on a different date under special circumstances but an exam fee may apply to those cases.

Booking Your Exams

You must book your exam no later than one week before your selected date by emailing ontariolearn@flemingcollege.ca. You will receive a confirmation of your booking via email.

When booking your exam, please provide:

  • Your name as is registered with us
  • The exact name of your course
  • The name of your host college*
  • The host college course code
  • The date on which you wish to write your exam, if a choice is offered.
  • If your exam is a mid-term test (we assume all exams to be FINAL exams)

* Host college refers to the school that is hosting your course and where your instructor is. For example, you may be registered with us for Medical Terminology but your course is actually managed by Loyalist College, your host college. Please download this information package and ask your proctor to complete and send the included form to us at Fleming.

Students Requiring Special Accommodations

Contact us if you require special accommodations in order to successfully complete your final exam. You will meet with a coordinator at the College to assess your qualifications.

Exam Process

  • Arrive early
Be sure to leave time to find your exam room. Please use the washroom before the exam begins as we prefer that participants not leave the room during the test.

A driver's licence, citizenship card or passport are preferred. A health card or post-secondary student ID card are also acceptable.
  • Check what you are allowed to bring
Some exams allow the use of books, notes, or a calculator. Check your course material or with your instructor well in advance of the exam date.
  • Non-course materials:
You can bring pens and pencils, but no additional blank paper or unauthorized notes unless permitted by your exam instructions. All personal items must be cleared from the table.
