Story Writing from Photographs Workshop

Haliburton School of Art + Design

Enrol in Story Writing from Photographs Workshop

Course Code: ARTS2387

Combining the art of writing with photography, this workshop uses photographs as the inspiration for well written short stories. Just as photographers find the extraordinary in the ordinary by showing unexpected angles, contrasting light, or by drawing your eye to the unexpected, writers can do the same thing with words. By incorporating similar techniques into your writing, you will explore familiar experiences and people in unique ways to create intriguing stories. Using photographs as a starting point for short stories is a unique and effective way to alleviate new writer's inhibitions and can help seasoned writers overcome writer's block. Instruction is suitable for new and experienced writers.

Some courses require additional textbooks and/or materials. Please visit your campus bookstore in-person or online: Peterborough Bookstore or Lindsay Bookstore.
