Course Code: HLTH386

COVID-19 has affected organizations and their staff on every level and in every region of the country. To ensure that organizations can continue delivering services during this pandemic and beyond, the Canadian Red Cross has created the PDT course to help organizations meet public health guidelines. This 1-hour course is suitable for all audiences, including those who work in front-line service delivery, retail, community and social services, and those who work with vulnerable populations. Delivered in a live online session, it covers information on how to prevent infection and prevent pathogens from entering the body; the different ways diseases are transmitted and the role of immunization; proper handwashing techniques; how to use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, including donning and doffing a medical gown, a mask, protective eyewear, and gloves; as well as how to safely dispose of PPE.
