Intermediate level pottery making skills are required to participate in this course. Explore glazing and decorating techniques using simple, attractive Raku glazes that create the three basic characteristics of Raku - Crackle, Lustres, and Carbonization. Safe firing and post-firing reduction techniques will also be covered. Suitable for those with limited or no Raku experience, this informative introduction to the dramatic Raku process provides a stepping stone for further study in more advanced Raku courses. Small class size ensures individual attention. You are required to bring 8 bisque-fired pieces in Raku clay.
