Course Code: ARTS2356

Learn to incorporate metals into mosaic. Instruction will include which metals are recommended for mosaic and the adhesives that work best with them. You will also learn how to prepare a base for mosaic, how to cut a variety of materials, and how to create an effective mosaic using the elements of design. A 7"x7" prepared base will be provided, in addition to some pieces of metal, stained glass scrap, and stone. You are encouraged to bring a small collection of glass, shells, ceramics, and small metals such as keys, springs, and jewellery bits to incorporate into your project. Grouting will be demonstrated for completion after a 24 hour curing time. Reference notes on materials and products will be provided.
