Mosaics - Stone & Pebble Wall Hanging

There is something very special about working with materials from nature. Experience this as you complete a small mosaic on plywood, becoming familiar with the adhesives, the stone and the substrate. Progress to a large, ungrouted hanging mosaic for outdoors on Wedi Board*, utilising stone, stone tile, and pebbles. Learn how to cut materials (sometimes to expose the hidden beauty inside the stone) and how to position pieces to produce a mosaic that gives the stone its own unique 'voice'. Simple designs that showcase the materials will be encouraged. Instruction will include substrates suitable for outdoors, how to prepare them for mosaic, working with adhesives for outdoors, cutting techniques for a variety of materials, and how to care for your artwork. *Wedi Board is a substrate which, when prepared, is suitable for outdoors year-round in Canada.
