Mixed Media to Digital Design

Haliburton School of Art + Design

Enrol in Mixed Media to Digital Design

Course Code: ARTS2390

This course will bring together mixed media artwork and the potential of digital design. Starting in the studio, you will work with experimental mixed media techniques to develop a collection of original textured and patterned surfaces using watercolours and acrylics, block printing, and paper collage techniques. These samples will be scanned into digital files where they can be manipulated and combined to create unique designs using the innovative possibilities of digital technology. Simple Photoshop techniques will be taught as a means of creating a series of digital designs. Digital artwork can be printed on a wide range of textiles and paper surfaces, for numerous applications in textile art, fashion, interior design, stationery, and other custom artwork. These printing services will not be available on site but instruction regarding preparing your digital designs for output, and information about online printing services, will be covered on the final day.

Some courses require additional textbooks and/or materials. Please visit your campus bookstore in-person or online: Peterborough Bookstore or Lindsay Bookstore.
