Enrol in Mental Health First Aid

Course Code: HLTH327

Discover how to help a person who develops a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid helps an injured person in the interim before medical treatment, Mental Health First Aid provides help until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved. By gaining the basic skills to appropriately intervene and support a person experiencing mental health problems, whether a co-worker, friend or members of the public, you will be providing the early help that is so important for a better recovery. In this certificate workshop you can expect to improve your understanding of mental health problems and mental illness, minimize the fear and hesitation to become involved when you think someone is experiencing a mental health problem, and develop simple and effective intervention strategies. One in three Canadians will experience a mental health problem at some point in their life. Know what to do, when it happens in your circle.
