Landscape Painting - Fluorescent Chroma

Course Code: ARTS2633

Learn to use fluorescent hues and their specific properties in this contemporary landscape course. Fluorescent pigments can add extreme vibrancy to a composition when mixed in careful amounts. Artists such as Wanda Koop and Kim Dorland are currently using this colour range. In this course, you will learn to combine regular pigments with fluorescents, how to glaze, develop darks and when to add whites. In addition, you will create a fluorescent base or ground as well as learn how to mix neutral hues and when to incorporate. You may create abstract landscapes, your own subject matter or the inspiration of the dramatic Haliburton landscape. Time will be provided to work on larger paintings with steps for finishing. Acrylics only.
