This course is not suitable for beginners. This course offers you the opportunity to creatively distill and process your thoughts and concerns about the contemporary landscape. As an artist, how can you bear witness to current issues of climate change, the environment, habitat loss and urban sprawl? You can by recording it and making a statement via your art work! Art has always been a record keeper, it makes people pause, stimulates debate and is a powerful conduit for change. Each class will begin with a presentation of contemporary artists that are dealing with these subjects uniquely and profoundly. Deriving motivation from the artists presented, you will investigate different mediums, scale, colour and challenging compositions in facing hope, anxiety, problems and solutions.
