Jewellery - Meditation Rings

Haliburton School of Art + Design

Enrol in Jewellery - Meditation Rings

Course Code: ARTS2588

Spinner rings, meditation rings or fidget rings are a great tactile piece of jewellery. Beyond sensory use, these rings are wonderful for meditative practise, as the satellite rings spin freely on the wider band. These are fantastic rings for mixing metals. You can have a central ring of silver and combine metals using silver, copper, and brass to make the satellite rings. Making these rings requires some patience and experience with soldering. In this course you will make three different variations of the meditation ring from simple to complicated. You will design your rings by adding your own elements such as stamps, texturing, and using a rolling mill. First you will practise in copper or brass before moving on to creating your pieces in sterling silver. Measuring, fitting, soldering techniques, hammering, how to create twisted wire, and forging will all be covered in this course.
