Explore personal approaches to working with enamel, developing your technical and design skills in independent ways. A variety of techniques will be demonstrated, with the option to focus on those of greatest interest. Use of opaque, transparent and opalescent color, counter enamel, forming, wet packing, painting and drawing techniques, liquid enamels, torch and kiln firing, setting options, and experimental explorations will be discussed. Progressive instruction will work toward a beautifully finished pair of earrings and/or pendant. Both beginning and advanced students will be challenged to work at suitable levels of skill. All tools, copper, and enamels will be provided and fine silver will be available for purchase from the instructor.
