Enrol in Horizontal Directional Drilling Fundamentals - Design to Construction

Course Code: GEOL082

This joint course by the Centre for Advancement of Trenchless Technologies (CATT) and Fleming College combines both organizations' expertise, encompassing HDD design along with construction, and takes advantage of Fleming's unique training program in drilling. This the 4-day course combines theory with field practice. Lectures will provide details on surface and subsurface investigations, drilling fluids, tool selection, project planning, design, construction and QA/QC. Hands-on field training using state-of-the-art HDD equipment will expand your skills in operating HDD equipment, monitoring critical parameters (such as alignment, fluid pressures and pull loads) and investigating the subsurface during bore path drilling operations. Who Can Benefit? HDD Constructors / Owners Gain knowledge of the technical side for a better understanding of safety, productivity, contract bidding and factors in equipment breakdown. Engineers Combine you engineering design ideas with on-the-ground practical solutions. Municipalities Reduce the financial and logistical risks of a drilling project by gaining an understanding of the HDD process. You will also learn what to look for in an HDD contractor and what to ask when it comes to tenders.
