This course is about awareness. It will help create empathy and understanding for those who have suffered grief, pain and trauma, given to them through no fault of their own. Explore acknowledgement of suffering and honour the resilience and strength of spirit required to carry that suffering, in a culturally sensitive and respectful way. The trauma of residential schools, why it happened, and the impact on survivors and their communities is addressed through instruction and projects. Learn how powerful it is to witness and respect each human story and awaken and nurture each person's cultural resources in the discovery of healing.
