Drawing & Painting on Mylar

Haliburton School of Art + Design

Enrol in Drawing & Painting on Mylar

Course Code: ARTS2519

The luscious frosted surface of Mylar readily accepts a variety of mediums. Its translucent, plastic nature allows tracing from an original (printing without a press), giving work a contemporary feel. Instruction will introduce materials and methods appropriate to Mylar, and progress to exploration in a supportive and encouraging environment. Lessons will include mediums used for drawing on Mylar; handling monochromatic imagery; acrylic and matte medium, painting both sides of the Mylar surface, developing a series, mixed media, large-scale works, design, fluorescent colour, and combining wet and dry mediums. This course is suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. A minimum of two critique sessions will be included.
