Enrol in Drawing & Painting Landscapes on Mylar
Course Code: ARTS2585
Making use of Mylar's unique properties allows both subtle and dramatic artwork to emerge. Instruction will address Mylar-specific composition, reference contemporary and historic artwork, and include demonstrations. Mylar is an excellent material for quick sketching outdoors, adding colour later in the studio. Imagery develops quickly and easily on this filmic material and working on both sides of the frosted, semi-transparent surface creates unique opportunities. Working with both wet and dry mediums, learn to combine abstraction and realistic reference into landscape work. Mixed media is also addressed and encouraged. Multiple versions of a favourite sketch or photo can be achieved by tracing from an original source image. Gain design experience and a fresh take on the contemporary landscape, while making full use of this extraordinary, flexible material. Instruction is suitable for all levels of experience. Some previous drawing and painting is helpful but not necessary. Weather permitting, time will be spent working outdoors, taking advantage of the inspiring Haliburton landscape.
