Enrol in Drawing & Painting Figures in the Landscape
Course Code: ARTS2586
This course is not suitable for beginners.
Explore the integration of various figures and fauna into drawings and paintings while working in the lakeside woodland setting of the Haliburton Sculpture Forest, local wooded areas, and at lakes and shorelines. Sketching outdoors presents an important opportunity to create quick gestures of visitors connecting with the landscape. Lessons include both animal and human scale in natural and urban environments as you learn to create movement and passage through a variety of settings. Combine your own photographs and sketches as you create standalone pieces and develop powerful composition by working in series. In addition to outdoor work (weather permitting), studio time will provide historical references, demonstrations, and positive critiques. Instruction addresses drawing and painting mediums, as well as hybrid ventures, and best suits students with some drawing and painting experience.
