Enrol in Art-Making through the Senses

Course Code: ARTS2513

In the creation of visual work, the majority of attention is on what is seen. In this playful course, equal attention is paid to ALL of the senses, exploring how they can visually inspire, open up new ways of creating, and enable a more holistic experience of the world around us. Be inspired by artists who have synesthesia (when one sense simultaneously sets off another - such as when someone "sees" sound or "hears" colour), and others who create art that straddles multiple senses. Lastly, develop a body of work in which a sound, taste or touch will be "translated" into a series of paintings. Instruction is suitable for beginner and experienced painters.
