Haliburton School of Art + Design

Enrol in Abstracting the Landscape in Acrylics

Course Code: ARTS1668

Learn to simplify and extract the essential information from a reference photo or actual scene to create an abstracted version on canvas. While working with elements of design and choice of colour palette, emphasis will be on composition and value relationships. Where relevant, texture and collage will be incorporated to provide an interesting foundation, and different techniques will be explored for layering, glazing and enhancing these elements. Daily demonstrations and individual attention will enhance instruction. Suitable for beginners or experienced painters.

Some courses require additional textbooks and/or materials. Please visit your campus bookstore in-person or online: Peterborough Bookstore or Lindsay Bookstore.
