The new, FREE Carpenter Pre-Apprenticeship program starts March 16, 2020. Get job-readiness training, carpentry tools and training, and a paid job experience for your skills toolbox.

This is a 32-week program that requires Grade 10 to be eligible. It begins with in-class instruction, job readiness training, and secondary trade training in plumbing (eight weeks). It then progresses to carpenter training (12 weeks), and concludes with a paid work placement (8-12 weeks).

Due to space limitations, ONLY those interested in the program and registered to attend the information session on January 28, 2020 will be admitted. Registration for the information session will ONLY be open from January 20-26, 2020.

Please bring with you:

  • A cover letter stating why you are a good candidate for the program
  • A current resume
  • Copy of your high school (or equivalent) and/or post secondary transcript

No late submissions will be accepted.

The program is open to high school graduates, early school leavers, unemployed, and underemployed youth and adults. EI eligible and non-EI eligible, women, Indigenous peoples and newcomers to Canada are encouraged to apply.

When you complete this program you will have the equivalent of Level 1 (Basic) Carpenter Apprentice, job experience, the skills to search for and find employment, or pursue a full apprenticeship.
