The Alumni Mentorship Program began by matching first semester Career and Work Counsellor Program students with alumni from the program that were well established in their careers.
Alumni mentors are now available in all programs and the program is available to all students in any semester of a full-time program.
Mentors and mentees are asked to commit to the program for two academic years (September to April), with the expectation of meeting a minimum of 2-4 hours per month, either in person, by phone, or via email. The alumni mentor will provide up to date experience on the profession, as well as practical guidance, encouragement and support. The student mentee will have the opportunity to become better equipped to make well-informed decisions about short-term skills training and/or long term career development.
