School of Law, Justice & Community Services

Prepare for a career that impacts our everyday lives: from Emergency Services and the Law to Human and Comunity Services.

Today ensuring public safety and security can involve first responder teams of police and firefighters, private security forces protecting businesses and property, people who maintain our borders or those who work with technology to prevent and solve crimes. We have an excellent reputation in Ontario for being top-of-mind for law programs, largely because of our close ties with provincial partners, the extensive training our students receive and our strong community partnerships.

Growing Demand for Computer Security and Investigations Grads

Unique in Ontario, our 3–year program dedicated to security and digital forensics provides students a path to high-end jobs in diverse sectors. Often hired prior to graduating, our students are currently providing expertise for companies such as RIM, NCI, Scotia Bank, TD Canada Trust and for public sector organizations including CGI, the Ontario Government and the O.P.P.

An intense, final semester applied project or field placement provides you with real-world experience in protection and security of information technology. Students recently designed and built a secure computer environment to support mobile devices used by the police.

New - Child and Youth Worker Program

A new addition to our growing community services programming, the Child and Youth Worker program is designed to meet or exceed upcoming accreditation requirements in this field. It features three work placements to provide you varied practical experience to be successful in this challenging yet rewarding field.
