Program Highlights
Plumbing Techniques is a short duration, intensive program. You will learn to:
- interpret blueprints
- install valves and fittings
- join and secure sections of pipe and test pipe systems
- develop competencies in venting, waste and drainage systems
- explore the interaction of alternative energy sources with residential plumbing systems
Career Opportunities
Graduates may find employment with independent contractors, building maintenance operations or wholesale supply houses. This program can also be your pathway to a plumbing apprenticeship. Or rather than seeking employment immediately, you may choose to add more trade skills to your toolkit with one of Fleming College's programs such as Electrical Techniques, Welding Techniques, or Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
Minimum Admission Requirements
OSSD with the majority of credits at the Workplace (E) level, including English.
When Workplace (E) is the minimum course level for admission, (C) and (U/C) courses are also accepted.
Mature Students
If you are 19 years of age or older before classes start, and you do not possess an OSSD, you can write the Canadian Adult Achievement Test to assess your eligibility for admission.
