Welcome Days for new students

Published

New students will have the opportunity to get a jump on September by attending Welcome Days at Fleming College.

The college will welcome more than 800 new students, their families and guests to the Sutherland Campus on July 14, 16 and 18, and to the Frost Campus on July 14 and 18.

Welcome Days are held to ensure news students feel connected prior to starting at the college in September. Students have the opportunity to take care of items such as parking, lockers, student identification, meal plans and text books.

“Research shows that students who are well-informed and connected by attending a summer orientation event such as Welcome Days are more likely to be successful at College, as they become aware in advance of classes starting, of services, supports, and opportunities to get involved that contributes to their overall experience at Fleming,” says Greg Jefford, Manager, Student Life.

The college will host various sessions in the morning: separate information sessions for recent high school graduates and mature students; information for parents; and information on the new Co-curricular Record. Guided tours of the campus and residences will be available, and students will have the opportunity to complete their Assess for Success testing that day as well (pre-registration is required).

Visitors to Welcome Days are encouraged to register online ahead of time at flemingcollege.ca/welcome-days.
