Sutherland Campus convocation ceremonies celebrate Class of 2016

Hundreds of Fleming College graduates will cross the platform to receive their diplomas and certificates at six convocation ceremonies to be held Tuesday, June 7 to Thursday, June 9.

Up to 2,600 students will graduate from five schools at Sutherland Campus. Two ceremonies will take place each day at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre on Brealey Drive.

Here is the full schedule:

 

Tuesday, June 7

10 a.m. – School of Trades and Technology; School of General Arts and Sciences

2 p.m. – School of Business

 

Wednesday, June 8

10 a.m. – School of Justice and Community Development (Justice programs)

2 p.m. – School of Justice and Community Development (Community Development programs)

 

Thursday, June 9

10 a.m. – Arts and Heritage programs, Haliburton School of Art + Design; School of Health and Wellness

2 p.m. – School of Health and Wellness

 

School of Business faculty member and Hospitality program coordinator Jennifer Rishor will receive the Charles E. Pascal Award for Excellence in Teaching during the School of Business convocation ceremony on Tuesday, June 7.

Dianne Berlenbach, who teaches in the School of Business and the School of General Arts and Sciences, will receive the Vice-President Academic’s Contract Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. She will also receive her award during the School of Business convocation ceremony on June 7. Berlenbach is in her 25th year of contract teaching at Fleming.

For those that can’t attend, convocation will be live streamed by clicking the link found here: http://flemingcollege.ca/convocation/live-stream. The live stream service is provided by the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office and is sponsored by Nexicom.

Parking notice: Due to road construction on Brealey Drive, general parking will not be available at the Wellness Centre during convocation. Guests are asked to park on campus in the Beech, Cedar, Pine, Birch or Maple parking lots. Shuttles will be available to take guests to and from the ceremony. Guests arriving on campus are asked to use the Dobbin Road entrance to the Sutherland Campus.
