Sustainable Building workshop with Chris Magwood

Published

Fleming College’s Chris Magwood will host an upcoming workshop that explores the field of sustainable building.

Magwood is the program coordinator for both the Sustainable Building Design and Construction and Sustainable Renovation programs at Fleming.

The free workshop, Does this Sustainability Stuff Really Work? will take place on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre, 2505 Pioneer Rd. in Peterborough. (The Centre was built by Magwood and students in the Sustainable Building Design and Construction program in 2009.)

Magwood will encourage workshop participants to consider building design in a new way.

Magwood has written three books on straw bale building and is the author of the forthcoming Skeptic’s Guide to Sustainable Building.

Does this Sustainability Stuff Really Work? is part of a workshop series hosted by Camp Kawartha with support from the RBC Foundation.

The Sustainable Living in the Greater Peterborough Area workshop series matches experts with community members interested in specific topics on living sustainably. It focuses on practical steps community members and businesses can take to reduce carbon emissions, retrofit homes with green alternatives, and adopt sustainable living practices.
