Souper Bowl fundraiser for the United Way at Cobourg Campus

Published

Cobourg ON – (January 29, 2018) – Fleming College’s Cobourg Campus will this week host its annual Souper Bowl and Bake Sale to raise money for the Northumberland United Way.

In partnership with The Help Centre and Global HR Centre Inc., Souper Bowl will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For only $10 visitors can enjoy a bottomless bowl of soup/chili, bottled water and a fresh-baked roll.

Come early for the best selection or come after 1 p.m. to purchase leftovers for dinner.

Souper Bowl is a collaborative community event. Volunteers make the soups with additional sponsorship from The Dutch Oven, Ice River Springs and Aramark Food Services.

This is the 13th annual Souper Bowl. Last year, nearly $2,000 was raised at the event.

Tickets are available at the campus, which is located at 1005 Elgin St. W. in Cobourg.

For interested members of the media, David Francis, Fleming’s new Dean of Flexible Delivery and Contract Training, also will be at the campus that day to provide a tour of the new Personal Support Worker (PSW) lab. He will be in the lab from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The full-time PSW program started at the campus in September and is now in its second semester.
