score ONE for the TEAM 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
MEDIA RELEASE FROM THE POLICE FOUNDATIONS PROGRAM:
The score ONE for the TEAM committee is pleased to announce the seventh annual score ONE for the TEAM, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, sponsored by Nortrax and ServiceMASTER!
This year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre. A total number of 24 teams will be participating in either competitive or recreation divisions. Each team is guaranteed five games and one playoff game.
All proceeds from this tournament are donated to the Huntington Society of Canada for research into a cure. Since 2009, this charity event has raised over $30,000.
The tournament will also feature a BBQ and a raffle for amazing prizes. There are also trophies to the winning teams. For more details, and how to register or donate to the Huntington Society, please visit www.score-one-for-the-team.com.
The annual score ONE for the TEAM, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament sponsored by Nortrax and ServiceMASTER is an official Huntington Society of Canada event. Since its inception in 2009, the tournament has been organized with the support of Fleming College, Police Foundation students. These students build on leadership, organizational and communication skills essential to a career in policing. By volunteering, Police Foundation students also demonstrate a sense of community and willingness to help others.
Constable Jodi Landriault of the Peterborough Police Service was on the tournament’s organizing committee in 2009 and continues to volunteer. Constable Landriault says that the tournament is, “a great way for students to get involved in their community and support an amazing cause. Not only are we raising money, but awareness. ”
