Project Management Institute certification exams

 Fleming College will host a Project Management Institute (PMI) Group Examination at the Sutherland Campus on Monday, Dec. 21 at 9 a.m.

Individuals interested in writing the exam must register online with PMI at www.pmi.org by November 16, using the code 0989122115. It is recommended that the online application be reviewed and initiated as soon as possible as the application to write the exam requires information that may need to be obtained from a third party.

The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exam is open to anyone who has:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
  • 1,500 hours of project experience

Or

  • 23 hours of project management education completed by the time individuals sit for the exam.

 

The Project Management Professional (PMP) exam is open to anyone who has:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
  • 7,500 hours of leading and directing projects
  • 35 hours of project management education

Or

  • A four year degree
  • 4,500 hours leading and directing projects
  • 35 hours of project management education

The PMI was the first organization to offer a credential specifically for project managers, and its certification program remains the global standard. It was developed by practitioners for practitioners and represents its diverse global audience.

Fleming College offers a post-graduate program in Project Management that is aligned with the Project Management Body Of Knowledge, includes hands-on applied learning, and preparation for high-level contribution in the workforce.

The College is a Registered Education Provider of PMI. The designation ensures Fleming has met PMI’s rigorous quality criteria for course content, instructor qualification, and instructional design.
