Online learning offers flexibility to pursue career and personal development goals

Peterborough ON – (August 5, 2020) Online learning is gaining popularity as a practical and convenient method for career and personal development, allowing students the ability to learn virtually anywhere. Part-time online courses offered through Fleming College’s Continuing Education allow students the flexibility to fit learning into their busy schedules.

Fleming’s Continuing Education has a well-established, comprehensive portfolio of online courses and certificates that range from career to personal development. Lessons and assignments are posted in a virtual platform and students can access course content and complete weekly assignments at their convenience.

Fleming has added a number of innovative certificates and courses to its Continuing Education portfolio. New this year, students can enrol in unique courses such as Drone Training – Ground School, an online self-paced course in preparation of Transport Canada’s written Small Basic Exam, Teaching Online, a comprehensive course that covers all essential aspects of e-learning, and Coaching and Mentoring, an essential course for managers and community workers who engage with the public.

Other popular courses include Business Writing Strategies, which discusses grammar, structure and messaging for a wide variety of business communications and QuickBooks, the quintessential accounting software for small business owners. Popular courses that lead to certificates include Children’s Mental Health Certificate, which delves into mental health from infancy to adolescence, Human Resources Management Certificate, which has been approved as credit by the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA), and Medical Office Support Staff Certificate, which develops the specialized knowledge and skills to work in medical offices, shared clinics, labs and long-term care facilities. 

Registration is open for the upcoming academic year, running September 2020 to May 2021. Most online courses will begin September 8, 2020, as well as a number of monthly start dates for some of the most popular courses.
