Peterborough ON – (January 6, 2021) – As unexpected and challenging as last year was, the goal at Fleming College has always been to make learning easy, accessible and safe for everyone. The obstacles we faced in 2020 as a community have only made that resolve stronger.

Continuing Education at Fleming College has further expanded its portfolio to offer new courses, certificates and specializations. There are more than 900 courses in total to choose from to support career development through upskilling and gain new knowledge for personal growth.

Some of the new courses that can add current and in-demand skills to your resume include: Teaching Online and E-Learning Tools for instructors who are moving their curriculum online and can benefit from a range of e-learning tips and tricks; also, Mindful Living and Meditation, an eight-week course delivered live online, can help navigate through these uncertain times by providing tools to reduce stress, and increase self-control and focus.

New and popular certificates and specializations include: Social Media, which provides essential training for any business, entrepreneur and influencer looking to develop an effective digital communications strategy, and Interior Decorating – Residential for those looking to take on renovation projects or start their own consulting company. Courses in the Creative Writing certificate continue to be in demand.

Prevention of Disease Transmission, a one-hour Red Cross course, is also available through an online live delivery. In addition to important information about disease transmission, the course offers practical skills in properly putting on and taking off personal protective equipment (PPE), such as masks, protective eyewear, gloves and medical gowns, and proper handwashing techniques.

Learning virtually means you have the flexibility to do it anywhere and anytime. The instructors at Fleming Colleges are experts and industry leaders in their fields, so students are taught the latest in workplace procedures and job-ready skills.

Many courses start on January 12 and registration is open for the Winter 2021 term. For more information and to register, please visit the Continuing Education website.
