NEW: Fleming College to offer Lean Plus Training and Certification
Peterborough ON – (July 23, 2014) – In response to a community voice of the customer event held earlier this year, Fleming College is offering a new contract training and certification program that focuses on eliminating waste, identifying improvements, and creating effective, sustainable change in the workplace.
This new training will provide organizations with the skills to innovate efficiently and develop a continuous improvement skillset.
Combining Lean Six Sigma training and certification with additional training in leadership, innovation and transformational change, Fleming College’s new Lean Plus program aims to impart creative problem-solving and sustainability in a variety of occupational settings – from manufacturing to healthcare to non-profit organizations.
Those taking Lean Plus Green Belt certification will benefit from a highly effective combination of classroom training and in-workplace one-on-one coaching. The Green Belt program is capped off with an applied project, which will amalgamate the training and skills learned in the program while also yielding an immediate ROI for the participant’s organization.
Lean Six Sigma is a management tool that originated in the manufacturing sector and has been adapted successfully in other sectors, such as the service industry. It is being used more often, not only in the private sector, but also in public sector institutions as a tool to spur innovation and find efficiencies.
For example, municipalities have used Lean Six Sigma to do more with less. The City of Kawartha Lakes recently announced it had saved $6 million through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma.
Lean Plus will be offered through Fleming’s School of Justice and Business Studies – Contract Training. Sessions start in September. Discounts are available for groups of two or more from the same organization. For more information, visit: http://flemingcollege.ca/services/contract-training
