Frost Campus to host Tanzanian delegation

The Frost Campus of Fleming College will host a delegation of education officials from Tanzania on Thursday, Oct. 29.The delegation will be visiting the campus to learn more about the new Sustainable Agriculture program, the heavy equipment programs and Resources Drilling and Blasting and Blasting Techniques programs. The delegation is interested in knowing how the programs are developed, designed and implemented to respond to the needs of employers.The group will also learn about the college’s work with constructed wetlands through the Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment.The Tanzanian officials include representatives from the country’s Ministry of Education and Vocational Training as well as the Dar Es Salaam Institute of Technology and the Arusha Technical College. The delegation is traveling with representatives from the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.Following program overviews in the morning, the delegation will tour the college’s Resources Drilling and Blasting building at 2 p.m. and the Centre for Heavy Equipment Technology at 2:30 p.m. that day.     – 30 -For more information:     Laura Copeland, Communications Officer, 705-749-5530 x 1370 or copeland@flemingc.on.ca
