Frost Campus: Master Planning Project Underway

Published

A campus master planning project for the Frost Campus is officially underway.

The new Frost Campus Master Plan will aim to answer the question: What will Frost Campus look like in 2035 and beyond? It will outline a vision for the use and development of campus property and buildings into the future.

The process will involve consultation sessions with key stakeholders to look at opportunities for future development, and it will consider elements such as the requirements and growth of academic programs, traffic flow (pedestrian and vehicular), a vision for student life on campus, and the overall infrastructure of the campus and how it connects with the community.

Fleming College has retained Brook McIlroy to prepare the Frost Campus Master Plan. Their team includes Campus Planners, Urban Designers, Architects, Landscape Architects, Transportation Planners and Engineers, Stakeholder and Public Engagement Specialists, Project Managers, and LEED Accredited Professionals.

Feedback from students, faculty and staff, as well as from the community around the Campus, will be central to the development of the Frost Campus Master Plan. In addition to the campus planning committee work, there will be a series of consultations. These consultations will include faculty, staff, students, alumni, City of Kawartha Lakes staff, and others to gather input and ideas on the future of the Frost Campus.

Further details will be provided through a dedicated project website. The plan is expected to be complete by the end of May.
