Students in Fleming College’s Ecosystem Management program at the Frost Campus will take part in Kawartha Conservation’s Shoreline Naturalization Program at Rainbow Bridge Park, part of Nayaro Park in Lindsay, on Friday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. The students, as part of a Restoration Ecology course, will install restoration materials such as silt fencing, as well as plant wildflowers and shrubs on site.According to Kawartha Conservation, the Shoreline Naturalization Program was initiated in 2002 over growing concern around the urbanization of shoreline properties. The program is designed to encourage private and public land stewardship of natural resources and provide educational opportunities across the watershed.
