Fleming College releases holiday music video #WonderfulWorld in support of students and local community

Published

Peterborough ON – (December 11, 2020) – Fleming College has persevered through the unexpected events of this year. We dedicate this holiday music video to all of the students, staff, frontline workers, and our many local heroes who have made an untenable situation a moment of pride and reflection on the power of coming together. Let us always be reminded that it is our family, friends and communities who are the beacons of light, when we need them the most. Like the previous “Lost Together” video released in April, this video is a collaborative project by local artists, dedicating their time and talent and most importantly, their heart.  Featuring Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo and other musicians from the Kawartha region, this is a cover of the classic song “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

“These musicians are very special people and our community is blessed to have such passionate talent,” said Maureen Adamson, Fleming College President. “I could not be more proud of how we have led and navigated through the events of this year with safety as our guiding principle. My wish for everyone that watches this video is that they are reminded of the importance of friends, family and community, and that this inspires optimism for a wonderful 2021. We have every reason to be hopeful.”

Adamson hopes that you will stay tuned for a Fleming surprise that will surely brighten your day at its Sutherland Campus in Peterborough, ON.

The video was directed and produced by Michael Hurcomb; other producers include James McKenty, Melissa Payne and Kate Suhr.

Fleming College thanks all those involved in this musical gift for the holidays, not in the least the musicians: Greg Keelor, Jimmy Bowskill, Beau Dixon, Whitney Hall, James McKenty, Melissa Payne, Kate Suhr and Maureen Adamson. There are also special appearances by: Tania Clerac, Sandra Dupret, Brett Goodwin, Chandra Gupta, Blake Morris, Angela Pind, Linda Poirier, Neil Price, Elizabeth Stone, Drew Van Parys and Scott Walling.
