Fleming College launches bridging program to nursing

Personal support workers can now bridge to Fleming’s Practical Nursing programFleming College will next month launch a new program designed to allow personal support workers (PSW) to bridge into Fleming’s nursing program.After successfully completing the required part-time courses, PSWs would be eligible to enter into the second semester of Fleming College’s full-time Practical Nursing program located at the Sutherland Campus. There is room for 30 bridging students to enter the second semester of the program in January 2010.The part-time bridging program will be offered at the college’s campuses in Peterborough, Lindsay and Cobourg. The courses will start March 2 and are open to students who have a Personal Support Worker Ontario College Certificate.Individuals can apply for the bridging program through Fleming’s School of Continuing Education and Skilled Trades. Applications and course information are available on the college’s website at www.flemingcollege.com/pswbridge.
