Fleming College is on the Move

Published

Peterborough ON – (April 6, 2022) – Fleming College has a new presence in Downtown Peterborough.

Fleming’s Skills on Demand Work and Academic Upgrading program, along with the Language Instruction for Newcomers program (LINC), have moved to the lower level of Peterborough Square.

Peterborough Square is also home to the Fleming College Muskoka-Kawarthas Service System Manager (SSM), which manages employment services in the region. Covering the District of Muskoka, City of Kawartha Lakes, along with Peterborough, Northumberland, and Haliburton counties, the aim of SSM is to match job seekers more efficiently with employers.

“Moving these offices together puts essential services for job seekers all in one place,” said Fleming College President Maureen Adamson. “These are fundamental services and placing them together in the heart of our community better serves our community.”

To better align resources to support this new initiative, the Peterborough location of Fleming CREW Employment Centre at 1550 Lansdowne Street West will close as of March 31, 2022.

The Haliburton location of Fleming CREW, located at 49 Maple Avenue, remains open. It continues to be an integral resource for prospective employees and employers in rural communities.

The Skills on Demand Work and Academic Upgrading and LINC programs in Cobourg also have a new space to call home, moving to a new location at 609 William Street.
