Fleming College Men’s Basketball looking strong heading into home opener against Georgian.

Fleming College (Sutherland Campus) will host the Georgian Grizzlies as they begin their 2016 – 17 OCAA basketball season.

The Fleming Knights look to build on their 7-13 record from a year ago as they head into the upcoming season. With a strong balance of size and speed, veteran players are excited about this year’s team. “We’re much deeper into the bench,” said third year point guard Taylor Robinson. “Honestly, I’m comfortable with almost everyone coming onto the court, which is nice. We’ve also changed our game a bit to a more transition-type approach where we break out and push the ball,” he added.

Local basketball organization The Peterborough Power will be play an inner squad game during half time. The U13 Boys Bantam players include Nihal Menon, Benny Buell, Nate Longo, Owen Wisman, Jack Workman, Tristan Onusko, Justin Wang, Adrian Charles, Hunter Hanley, Felix Dubois, Adam Weide, and Connor Mehnert.

The OCAA Fleming Knights will host the regular season home opener at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre on October 22, 2016 beginning at 5:00 pm. Horns will be distributed to fans as they enter the gym to help cheer on the Knights. The event is open to the public and further information can be found at www.flemingknights.ca
